The opening hole is a good example of the strategy and shot making players will need to score well. Avoid Warm Springs Creek along the entire left side of the fairway. Ideal positioning is right center of the fairway leaving an open shot to the green.

Shortest par 4 at Old Works. The prevailing west winds, can make this hole tougher than its yardage. Tee shot needs to reach ridge, 280 yards from back tee to avoid blind second shot to this small, well bunkered green.

A dominant feature on the course, the massive stone furnaces of the Calciner line the left side of the fairway. Prevailing winds will try to push shots to the right. Two shots up the center will be ideal positioning for the third. Back two-thirds of green falls away making execution of approach shot crucial.

Picturesque par 3 with remnants of Flue #5, the holes namesake in the background. Favor the left side to avoid the four foot deep bunker that guards the front right portion of the green. One of the most important greens to reach in regulation. Enjoy the view!

A good target, the low maintenance bunker that surrounds the lake is 260 yards from the copper tees. Being downhill it may require a club other than a driver. From the middle of the fairway, with the pond fronting the green, club selection for your second shot is critical.

The sixth, is named for the large piles of slag on each side of this par 5. Two shots up the middle of the fairway will leave a short shot to this elevated green. Accuracy counts here as the bunker that guards the front left of the green is one of the deepest on the course at 10 feet.

The seventh, atop a hillside of slag, is the longest par 3 at Old Works. The prevailing westerly wind may negate the elevation change. The strategy on this hole will be to choose the right club and make a good swing.

From the tee, a good directional target will be just right of the two fairway bunkers in the middle. 340 yards from the back tees. Club selection for the approach is important with the elevation change and the green being the largest on the course.

The longest par 4 on the course flows downhill some 50 feet to the green. A tee shot in the right center of the fairway will leave an open approach. A large tier splits the middle of the green making club selection and putting a challenge.
